How to get the Star Fruit
From the Seed Shop at 315,000,000 Sheckles or 1,899 Robux — the most expensive seed in the shop. Restock chance is 0.12%, just 3 in every 2,500 rolls.
At roughly one appearance every 18 hours of rotations, this is among the hardest seeds in the game to catch by waiting.
What the Star Fruit does
The in-game ability reads: "The Star Fruit glows at night, periodically striking a random plant within your garden with 2 beams of starlight, mutating it with the Glow mutation."
It works on your other plants, not itself — a passive mutation engine that runs every night while it is planted. That is what justifies the price rather than its own sell value.
Star Fruit value
Average sell value is 6,000, at 9.0 kg.
Note the mismatch: it costs 315,000,000 and sells for 6,000. Nobody buys this to sell the fruit — you buy it for the Glow mutations it applies to everything else.
Not the same as GAG1's Starfruit
The original Grow a Garden has a Starfruit, spelled as one word, and it is a different item — Legendary, limited, no longer obtainable, and averaging 15,000 rather than 6,000.
Grow a Garden 2 spells it Star Fruit, two words. If you find a guide quoting 15,000, it is describing the other game.
How Star Fruit sale price is actually calculated
The game calculates a fruit's sale price like this:
Price = SellValue × SizeFactor × SizeMultiplier × MutationMultiplier × DecayPenalty × FriendsBonus, rounded down.
The part that matters most is SizeFactor, which is Size raised to the power of 2.5 for almost every crop. That is steeply non-linear: a fruit 50% larger sells for about 176% more, and one at double size sells for roughly 5.7×.
Two crops override it — Mushroom uses 1.9 and Bamboo 1.75, so oversized specimens of those are worth proportionally less than they would be otherwise.
Above a size of 5, diminishing returns kick in and the exponent drops to 1.5. Enormous fruit are still worth more, just not on the same curve.
Decay costs 80% of value at full decay, and each friend on your server adds 10%.
